Lent is a season in the church’s year which is particularly focussed on using the Spiritual Disciplines to draw near to God. We especially remember when Jesus spent 40 days in the desert, a time of preparation and prayer, before he began his public ministry. Lent is a time for making space, being still, listening to God and praying.

Every Sunday morning at The Point we meet in the school chapel at St Paul’s Catholic College for prayer and a simple communion. During Lent 2019 we are making more of this time, it will become an early service with worship, teaching, Holy Communion and prayer every Sunday at the earlier time of 9am (we will be finished before 10am in plenty of time to be ready for the 10.30 service). We will also be focussing on intercessory prayer (praying for our world) with a new initiative called “STAY AND PRAY” – a new half hour gathering for prayer at the end of the main 10.30 service, from 12.15 – 12.45pm.
